Local Nerd jobs in Tulsa & Broken Arrow
Tulsa and Broken Arrow is the second-biggest metro in the state: Tulsa, Jenks, Bixby, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Glenpool, Broken Arrow and out to Bristow, Beggs and Hominy. Both open bands are being driven and we're hiring here continuously. Green Country also has markets right beside it with no Local Nerd living in them, so a Local Nerd here is never short of ground.
In-person visits are open across this whole market, in every travel band that has towns in it. We're still hiring here: an open market has evenings, weekends and days nobody is covering.
Remote help by phone and screen-share already works at every address in this market, and it's part of the job wherever you live. A Local Nerd living here adds the half that can't be done over the phone. See what customers are told on the Tulsa page.
23 towns are measured from downtown Tulsa: 16 within 25 miles, 7 in the 25 to 50 mile band. They sit in Tulsa, Creek, Wagoner and Osage counties. Every market reaches 75 miles from its downtown in three travel bands, and the farther bands pay a higher hourly rate because the drive is longer. You choose which bands you take, and you can change it later.
16 towns. Tulsa, Oakhurst, Sand Springs, Jenks, Sapulpa, Broken Arrow, Glenpool, Kiefer, Bixby, Prue, Mounds, Leonard, Kellyville, Mannford, Osage, Cleveland.
7 towns. Beggs, Terlton, Hominy, Slick, Bristow, Wynona, Depew.
Not sure which market your town belongs to? Apply for the city nearest you and tell us where you live. The markets overlap on purpose, and you tell us which queues you want bookings from.
Tulsa works like Oklahoma City does: dense, quick between visits, and a customer base that ranges from downtown apartments to the older houses in Midtown with plaster walls and no signal past the kitchen. Broken Arrow and Jenks add a large run of newer homes full of smart-home gear that was installed by a builder and explained to nobody. Out past Sapulpa it turns rural quickly and the drives get long.
You keep the majority of every booking, and 100% of every tip. You see the split up front. Tips are paid out weekly with no commission taken.
You set your own availability. Open the times that suit you in Nerd HQ. A few evenings a week or full time, that part is your call.
Bookings come to you. When you're marked available, customers book your open time directly, with buffer time built in around each visit.
Nobody negotiates money at the door. Every booking takes a deposit up front and holds the card. The customer signs off on your phone at the end and the rest charges itself.
You're independent. Your own tools, any reliable and presentable vehicle, and free to work elsewhere whenever you like.
You have a team behind you. You get the Nerd HQ app, a direct line to HQ, a team that meets over video, and other Local Nerds to ask when something's strange.
No. The booking goes to whoever has the time open, and evenings and weekends are the hours we most need covered.
Those are the Muskogee market, and no Local Nerd lives in it. House calls reach Muskogee, Tahlequah and most of that market on a drive in from outside, and the far end toward Sallisaw and Fort Smith is still on remote help. If you live that way, apply to Muskogee instead.
Start to finish usually takes about one to two weeks, depending on scheduling and how fast your background check clears.
Apply online. About five minutes. No resume needed.
We read it. A real person reads every application, and if it looks like a fit, we reach out.
Interview. A video chat to meet you and walk through the role together.
Background check, and we pay for it. Only after we've talked. You enter your details with the screening provider, never with us.
Onboarding, and you're live. Your Nerd HQ account, your hours and a short orientation, then your first booking.

Markets with nobody in them are listed first. If your town isn't the one on this page, it's almost certainly on one of these.
This page describes an independent contractor opportunity and is not an offer of employment. Local Nerds are independent contractors, not employees: you set your own availability, use your own tools and vehicle, and are free to work elsewhere. Compensation is a revenue share paid on completed bookings. Nothing on this page guarantees any level of income or booking volume, in this market or any other.
